Motorists who travel along Walnut Street in McKeesport will notice that the traffic flow during morning and evening rush hour has been improved, according to city electrician Tom Rosso.
Crews from Butler County-based Bronder Technical Services upgraded six traffic signals Thursday between Eden Park Boulevard and the 15th Street Bridge, which crosses the Youghiogheny River and connects McKeesport to Liberty borough and Port Vue.
Walnut Street is a portion of state Route 148.
“Crews are upgrading pedestrian signals, putting in new signal heads, putting in LED lighting and recalibrating timing of the lights to enhance the traffic flow during morning and evening rush hour,” Rosso said.
