The Yough softball team has established a winning culture over the last four seasons, and the success speaks for itself.
Under the guidance of sixth-year head coach Dutch Harvey, the Cougars made the WPIAL playoffs four times, while appearing in the WPIAL championship game twice. They appeared in the state playoffs three straight years from 2015-2017, winning PIAA gold in 2016.
They’ve also dominated in section play, compiling a 46-2 record over the last four years.
Despite having to replace three key seniors while moving to a new section, the 2019 Cougars aim to continue the rich tradition. They will attempt to do so with seven returning starters, including senior pitcher Kierra Waywood.
