Ringgold offering early retirement

Ringgold School Board is offering early retirement incentives to the district’s non-professional and professional employees.
During this month’s board meeting, the board approved a motion to offer an incentive to non-professionals — secretaries, administrative assistants, maintenance workers and custodians — who have at least 10 years of service in the district.
The incentive includes a one-time payment of $5,000 or individual health insurance coverage for one year. The insurance coverage would begin the month after the retirement begins.
Those who want to take advantage of the offer must turn in “an irrevocable letter of retirement” by 3 p.m. April 30. The employees’ retirement would begin June 30.
