Tre Mitchell announces commitment to UMass
Former Elizabeth Forward basketball standout Tre Mitchell, who left the WPIAL for a prep school in Connecticut, committed to Massachusetts on Friday.
Mitchell revealed his decision on Twitter.
In making the decision, Mitchell tweeted, “Count me in!!! Proud to announce my commitment to The University of Massachusetts.”
The 6-foot-9, 230-pound center transferred to Woodstock Academy in 2016 after playing two seasons at Elizabeth Forward. He quickly became that state’s top boys basketball player and collected 30 scholarship offers with Pitt, Duquesne and Penn State among them.
