Coming off a 10-0 loss to Chartiers-Houston in his team’s section opener, Charleroi softball coach Trey Tilghman was hoping to see some changes in his team against California on Monday.
Following his team’s 14-1 nonsection win over the Trojans, he was pleased with what he saw.
“We figured Chartiers-Houston and Frazier were going to be at the top of things, but we know we’re better than how we played the other day,” Tilghman said. “I’m happy we got this game in today, before tomorrow’s section game. Now I’m hoping we roll this over into tomorrow’s game.”
He’s hoping to roll over a 10-strikeout performance from sophomore Kylie Quigley and 10 combined hits from the top four hitters in his lineup.
