Rodney H. Ferencz – Otway, N.C. formerly of Belle Vernon
Rodney H. Ferencz, 76, of Otway, N.C., formerly of Belle Vernon, passed away Monday, April 1, 2019, at home. “Pap Pap,” “Bird,” “Fishing Rod” or “Mosquito” are some of the names people knew Rodney as. He started his career as a government mechanic but spent most of his life as a coal miner in Pennsylvania. He loved fishing, traveling in his truck camper with his wife and was known for his “primitive camping.” He was a proud member of the Moose Club International and the National Rifle Association. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Karen E. Ferencz, of the home; son, Kenneth and wife Jeannette Crissman of Charleroi; daughters, Susan and husband Patrick Hill of Charleston, S.C., Kathy and husband Todd Brady of Harsens Island, Mich., and Kelly and husband Todd Santo of Roscoe; mother, Edyth Ferencz of Belle Vernon; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and brothers, Bill Ferencz and Mike and wife Janet Ferencz. He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Ferencz. The family requests no flowers. Memorial gifts for Parkinson’s research can be sent to the home.
