Mon Valley residents will have an opportunity to learn more about the Mon Valley Opioid Coalition during a public meeting April 30.
Formed to combat the ongoing opioid epidemic, the coalition is “making an impact and saving lives,” according to Westmoreland Drug and Alcohol Commission Executive Director Colleen Hughes. “The vision statement that drives the goals of the coalition is, ‘Uniting the Mon Valley to ensure the long-term health, safety and well-being of individuals in the region.’”
Hughes and Monessen police Chief Jim Smith co-chair the coalition, which has been meeting monthly since November 2017.
