Hilltop votes to oust firefighter

A Monessen Hilltop firefighter whose social media activity recently sparked a citywide debate has been removed from the fire department.
Hilltop Chief Delmar Hepple said Wednesday that volunteer firefighter Albany Suzanne Deiley, 18, of Belle Vernon was unanimously ousted by the department board during a recent meeting.
“She was still on probation and the board just felt that her comments were inappropriate,” Hepple said, adding board members did not discuss whether Deiley would ever be allowed to rejoin the department.
Deiley was due to finish her one-year probationary period for new members in June.
