Wardens will soon begin conducting dog license and rabies vaccinations checks in 23 counties throughout the state, including the Mon Valley area.
On Friday, the Department of Agriculture announced the checks, which will begin today through June.
The program aims to raise awareness of the importance of up-to-date dog licenses and rabies vaccinations for dogs and cats to the health and safety of communities.
In addition to safety, the checks can help pet owners find their four-legged loved ones if they go missing.
