Ringgold School District police are investigating after a bullet was found by a group of young students at a school playground.
Ringgold Elementary School North Principal Ross Florence sent a letter home to parents Wednesday and posted a statement on the district website after “a small caliber bullet” was found near the upper playground area.
Students saw the bullet during recess and immediately reported it to a teacher, according to Florence, who adds that the teacher turned the bullet over to school police.
Florence said police officers investigated the playground and a nearby field, but no other bullets were found.
