New tourism effort unveiled

American spirit lives in Washington County.
That’s the slogan behind the new marketing campaign unveiled Thursday by the Washington County Tourism Promotion Agency, just in time for National Travel and Tourism Week which will begin Sunday.
The focus of the campaign, called “The American Spirit Lives Here” will combine all areas of the county’s tourism industry to provide a message that will tell the whole story of Washington County and all it has to offer residents and visitors.
Jeff Kotula, president of the Washington County Tourism Promotion Agency, said there’s no doubt the impact tourism had in Washington County in 2017, bringing in more than $700 million in direct spending from visitors, according to recent data gathered by the county.
