Eagles rally past Jayhawks; earn share of section

Serra Catholic rallied to score six runs in the top of the seventh inning to capture a share of the Section 3-2A championship with a 6-2 win over Jeannette on Monday afternoon.
With its 16-6 win over Brentwood, Seton-LaSalle also earned a share of the section crown.
“It took a lot of guts,” Serra Catholic head coach Brian Dzurenda said of his team’s effort. “We had so many opportunities in the game and we left so many guys on base. I was just hoping we would get an opportunity one more time and when we did they took advantage of it.”
Jeannette’s Zander Malik pitched a gem through the first six innings before the Eagles finally got to the Jayhawks’ starter in the top of the seventh.
