A Washington County businessman believes his development plans can positively impact Monessen.
Matt Uram, executive director of the nonprofit Serenity Farms Inc. and a Title V administrator for the Southwestern Pennsylvania Area Agency on Aging, presented his plans during a city council meeting Thursday.
“We propose to develop a mix of single-family dwellings and townhouse construction,” Uram said. “These home sites will be slab set pre-fab construction, with square footage ranging from 800 square feet to 1,100 square feet.”
Development will start at the corner of Sixth Street and Knox Avenue. Uram said future consideration will include the former Epiphany of Our Lord Church, as well as the “Italian Club and dry cleaning sites,” and the project’s goal is to “eliminate blight, increase property values of surrounding properties and create a sustainable tax base.”
