Adams triples twice as Rams advance

Nya Adams had two triples, three RBIs and scored three times as ninth-seeded Ringgold overcame an early 3-0 deficit to knock off No. 8 New Castle in a WPIAL Class 4A softball playoff game at Montour Wednesday.
Adams, Lauren Temoshenka, Jillian Scherer and Leah Jaquay each finished with two hits for the Rams (8-8).
The offensive output for Adams helped make up for her critical error on a ground ball in the first inning that allowed the Red Hurricanes to score two of their three early runs.
Jaquay doubled in Hannah Frizzell in the top of the second to cut the New Castle lead to 3-1, and the Rams tied it in the third with a pair of runs.
