Warriors held to two hits in loss to No. 9 New Castle

All season, Elizabeth Forward’s strength has been its ability to collect a handful of hits and put enough runs on the scoreboard.
It helped the Warriors advance to the WPIAL Class 4A playoffs for the first time in five years, but a lack of offense sent EF out of the postseason early.
The eighth-seeded Warriors mustered just two hits in an 8-1 loss to No. 9 New Castle in Wednesday’s first-round matchup at Fox Chapel.
New Castle (9-9) starter Rocco Bernadina was dominant on the hill, striking out 11 and walking two in seven innings.
