Four McKeesport men and one Turtle Creek man have been arrested for their alleged involvement in an April 12 shooting at a busy Monroeville Mall store.
Allegheny County District Attorney Stephen A. Zappala Jr. and Monroeville police Chief Doug Cole made the announcement Thursday morning that five men are in custody, and that police are still searching for a sixth man, who is from McKeesport.
While no one was injured, the shooting happened at the ground-level entrance to the Macy’s Backstage department store. The mall was evacuated after shots were fired. The bullets shattered windows at the department store.
Brandon Noel, 21, of McKeesport, is the alleged shooter, according to Zappala. He is charged with attempted homicide, aggravated assault, riot, reckless endangerment and firing into an occupied structure.
McKeesport residents Brandon Murphy, 24, Jared Ogrosky, 21, Fordery Morris, 20, and Treysaun Lockett-Tillman, 21, as well as 22-year-old Jamaal Abdul-Rabb of Turtle Creek are charged with one count each of riot, simple assault and disorderly conduct. Murphy was the only suspect who was not in police custody as of presstime.
Preliminary hearings for Lockett-Tillman, Noel and Morris are scheduled for 8:30 a.m. June 3 before Magisterial District Judge Jeffrey L. Herbst.
Noel is being held in Allegheny County Jail in lieu of $250,000 bond. Morris and Lockett-Tillman are in ACJ in lieu of $50,000 bond. Hearings for Ogrosky and Abdul-Rabb were not scheduled prior to presstime.
