Shortly removed from the emotional high of the season, Serra Catholic must regroup and refocus on its next opponent in the WPIAL playoffs.
The Eagles beat Avonworth, 7-2, on Monday in the quarterfinals and with little time to process or soak in the win, second-seeded Serra Catholic now sets its sights on a matchup against No. 3 Neshannock today.
The Lancers played Monday, beating Carmichaels, 11-1.
“When we got off the bus Monday, I told them to live it up for the next six hours, but as soon as we get to the field Tuesday, we have to put this behind us and refocus on Neshannock,” Serra Catholic coach Brian Dzurenda said. “That’s the primary difficulty. The easier stuff is staying up until two in the morning and charting all their hitters and trying to get a feel on what they do.”
