William E. Orris – McKeesport
William E. Orris, 87, of McKeesport, died May 18, 2019, at The Palms At O’Neil. Born March 6, 1932, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late William and Irene (Toth) Orris and the husband of the late Mary (Gaudio) Orris. Bill retired from the City of McKeesport Police Department after 24 years, serving as a patrolman and a detective. He was a life-long member of the Free Hungarian Reformed Church of McKeesport. Bill served four years in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was a member of the 11th Ward Club, Hungarian Social Club, both of McKeesport and the GBU/TM Club of Duquesne. Bill had a passion for gardening, you could always count on fresh tomatoes and kohlrabies from his garden! He is survived by his children, Rev. William E. (Lisa) Orris Jr. of Oakwood Hills, Ill. and Renee’ (Brian) Nash of West Chester, Pa.; grandchildren, Lauren (John) Orris Folkerts, Michael (Kierra McCleary) Orris and Breana Nash; great-grandchildren, Micah William and Malachi Elek; sister, Margaret Steelnack of White Oak; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, Bill was also preceded in death by his first grandson, William E. Orris, III. Arrangements were entrusted to WILLIG FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY. Committal Service, officiated by Bill’s son, Rev. Bill Orris Jr., for family and friends, will be celebrated at the McKeesport & Versailles Cemetery Mausoleum at a later date.
