The Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission recognizes that families across the commonwealth utilize Memorial Day weekend as a time for recreation and liesure.
That’s why on Sunday, the commission is welcoming families and individuals visiting the state’s popular outdoor spots for holiday weekend to enjoy a day of free fishing.
The first of two “fish-for-free days” will be held Sunday. The second is July 4.
Fish-for-Free Days allow anyone — state residents and non-residents — to legally fish in Pennsylvania without a fishing license. From 12:01 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. on both days, no license is needed to fish in Pennsylvania’s waterways, but all other fishing regulations apply.
