Allegheny County police are looking for a second car that detectives believe was involved in an April 28 hit-and-run in Penn Hills that killed 51-year-old Joseph Morris.
On May 11, Allegheny County, McKeesport police and the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Fugitive Squad found the Saturn that they believe struck Morris in the parking lot of the Hi View Gardens housing complex in McKeesport.
Collision reconstruction officers from the Allegheny County Police have determined Morris was walking southbound on Hershey Drive when he was struck by the Saturn traveling northbound. The driver of the Saturn, Surron Burch, 21, of Pittsburgh has been arrested and charged with involuntary manslaughter and several other vehicle related offenses, detectives said Tuesday.
Burch is confined to Allegheny County Jail and has been denied bail. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for 8 a.m. June 28 before Judge Kim Berkeley Clark in Pittsburgh.
