Gloria Mae Venanzi – Monongahela
Gloria Mae Venanzi, 94, of Monongahela, died Thursday, May 30, 2019. She was born April 9, 1925, in Charleroi, the daughter of Samuel and Bessie Biagini Battaglini. Gloria and her husband, Frank, owned and operated Van Supply Company in Monongahela for many years. In their later years, they patented the patio upside down tomato garden, referred to as PUG. Gloria was an avid bowler of duck pins, which she enjoyed at the family bowling lanes, Venanzi Bowling Center on East Main Street in Monongahela. She loved golfing, which she played in couples and women’s leagues. She belonged to several card clubs, enjoyed flower gardening, crossword puzzles and especially loved to cook and entertain family and friends. She is survived by her sister, Marion Swiatek of Fanwood, N.J.; seven nieces and a nephew, Mary Ann Swiatek of Easton, Ed (Natalie) Swiatek of Fanwood, N.J., Joyce (Mike) Meinke of Norwalk, Ohio, Bonnie (Mike) Leonard of Summerville, S.C., Kathleen (Jeff) School of Monongahela, Mary Lou (Jeff) Pascoe of McDonald, Gina (Butch) Tuttle of Charleroi, Veronica (Duane) Fritz of Monongahela; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank J. Venanzi, who died Oct. 19, 2008. Friends will be received 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 7, 2019, at FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., 427 W. Main St., Monongahela, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 8, 2019, with the Rev.
