Mon City sets anniversary schedule

A four-day party is planned for Monongahela’s 250th anniversary in August.
The Monongahela 250 nonprofit members, President Laura Magone, Vice President Susan Bowers, Secretary Martha Muniz and Treasurer Carol Frye, have finalized much of the schedule and hopes current and former Monongahela residents will mark their calendars.
The biggest event will be the 250th Extravaganza, set for 7:30 p.m. Aug. 10 at the Aquatorium.
Gary Racan and the Studio E Band, a 14-piece band, will perform. A lighted-boat parade will follow and there will be a fireworks display. Everyone in attendance will be part of the official 250th portrait, which will include the creation of an LED community flag.
