Even though Roscoe’s annual Riverfest Weekend fell on two of the hottest days of last year, there was still a generous turnout by the community, according to Sandy Davis, president of borough council.
The weather for this year’s celebration, which is take place Friday and Saturday is predicted to reach the mid- to high 80s, still a scorching number but a bit milder than last year.
“We wanted to do something for the community and for our borough,” Davis said. “To bring everyone together. Last year, it was just exceedingly hot.”
After St. Joseph’s parish closed in 2017, the borough searched for ways to maintain the light-hearted, community-centered activities they had become accustomed to at the church. They came up with Riverfest Weekend, a two-day event for Roscoe residents and families.
