After going back to the drawing board on last month’s preliminary budget proposal, the Charleroi Area School Board unanimously approved a 2019-20 spending plan Tuesday that includes a slight tax increase.
Directors approved the $25,171,000 budget — an increase of $1,048,000 over the 2018-19 school year — with a .55 mill rise in taxes.
Property owners with a home valued at $100,000 will pay roughly $55 more next year.
Business Manager Crystal Clark said every dollar of the spending plan was carefully reviewed to set the district – and students – up for success.
