She entered into a clinical trial directing her body through CAR-T Cell Therapy through Hillman Cancer Center under the practice of Dr. Mounzer E. Agha, a man she respected and adored through her journey. Her strength and fierce eagerness to live allowed her invaluable time with family and friends. With the support of the oncology team of doctors, nurses and a strong family behind her, Carla won two battles with her aggressive opponent within the two years of her war. Her third battle would prove to be the conclusion of her fight as complications arose and Carla’s ability to fight was taken from her. Carla was born in New Eagle on Dec. 5, 1959, and grew up at her family home on Hoon Street. She was the daughter of David and Rose Fragello Coltogirone, who both predeceased her. Carla married her loving husband, Richie R. Margie, who survives her, on June 19, 1993. Carla is also survived by her sisters and their spouses, Madeline Gidick, Elizabeth and Dennis Cichy, Ann and John Olexik; and a sister-in-law, Judy Coltogirone. Carla joins her deceased brother, John Coltogirone. She also leaves behind many supportive and loving nieces, nephews and cousins who will miss her dearly. She graduated from Robert Morris Business School with an associate degree. Her most loved career as a realtor with Howard Hanna Simon Real Estate proved to be her most rewarding professional accomplishment, earning multiple awards as a top producer. Her charitable time was spent coordinating events to for the Children’s Care Fund and Project Bundle Up. Carla’s vibrant and unmatched personality proved to be what allowed her to be part of many local social clubs, creating a multitude of lasting friendships. Carla devoted her life to being the best wife, mother, grandma and sister she could be through family vacations, thinking of others before herself and building an amazing home for her family to grow up in and visit. She loved traveling, shopping, decorating and bringing smiles to the faces of everyone she knew. Her legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone that she interacted with.
