Rostraver Township commissioners informed a community business owner and employee Tuesday that its “hands were tied” concerning serious flooding on Route 51 as the result of a drainage issue involving two landowners.
Debbie Bobin, speaking on behalf of T W Scott Enterprises, expressed distress concerning the consistent flooding of the road leading to the business where she works due to a collapsed drain pipe owned by rental company Farnham and Pfile.
T W Scott had to close down for six days in a two-week period because of water that reportedly reached nearly 8 feet, according to a measurement system installed outside, Bobin said.
“We need some help,” she said, noting it’s a township-owned road that is being impeded by the blockage. “We do not have access to our property and we cannot run our business.”
