The Charleroi Area School District is hoping to land another grant to enhance safety.
Superintendent Dr. Ed Zelich announced Tusday that he and administrators applied for a $25,000 Safe Schools Initiative Grant for Equipment.
The grant provides funding for security planning, purchase of security-related technology such as metal detectors, protective lighting, surveillance equipment, special emergency communications equipment, electronic lock-sets, deadbolts and theft control devices and training in the use of security-related technology.
The district will find out if it was successful in October. The money will be used to replace more than 120 security cameras.
