State Sen. Camera Bartolotta, R-Carroll Township, is targeting grass clippings because of the dangers they can present on area roads.
Bartolotta recently proposed a bill banning the disposal of grass clippings onto roads, which she says poses a risk for many people.
“It’s not just motorcyclists; it’s bicyclists and even small cars,” Bartolotta said. “If you go around the bend on a beautiful, dry, sunny day, you don’t expect to hit a patch of ice, and that’s what grass is like.”
Bartolotta became aware of the dangers that mass amounts of grass clippings can cause when avid motorcyclists began sending her Facebook messages with obituaries of their friends attached.
