Belle Vernon man accused of stealing reptiles from pet store

A Belle Vernon man is in jail for allegedly swiping snakes, iguanas, worms, mice and other items from a West Newton pet store Monday.
Bobby Louis Crosby Jr., 39, of Belle Vernon, was charged with burglary, criminal trespass, theft and receiving stolen property after breaking into Riverside Pets on East Main Street in West Newton.
Police were called to the pet store Tuesday in reference to a burglary.
Business owner Terry VanDyke reported the burglary, police said. The stolen articles included two green iguanas, one six foot long python snake valued at $350, one box of worms, seven mice, one, two-foot-long Columbian boa snake valued at $350, and other merchandise including a 10-gallon-tank, a snake cage lock, a double dome light and five heating bulbs. Crosby also stole $75 in cash.
