Several development grants that will benefit the Mon Valley have been announced by State Sens. Jim Brewster, D-McKeesport, and Camera Bartolotta, R-Carroll Township.
The grants are all being issued through the state’s Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program, which is administered by the Pennsylvania Office of the Budget and is used for the acquisition and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational and historical improvement projects. Qualifying projects have a regional or multi-jurisdictional impact, help create or maintain jobs and generate economic activity.
A $1 million grant to the Mon Valley Alliance will support construction of a flex-space building to be located in Alta Vista, its newest business park and a key economic generator for the Mid-Monongahela River Valley. The 35,000-square-foot building could be occupied by either two tenants or one large tenant, allowing MVA additional flexibility in attracting new businesses to the park.
Alta Vista Business Park is a 256-acre site of flat and gently rolling land located in Fallowfield Township.
