Port Vue police chief to retire; junior councilman joins board

Port Vue Council will soon be searching for a new police chief.
During Wednesday’s monthly meeting, it was announced police Chief Bryan Myers will attend his last council meeting Sept. 4. Council approved a motion to allow Myers to retire early.
A date hasn’t been finalized for Myers’ last day. Mayor Brien Hranics said the resolutions and paperwork have to be finalized.
Council approved a motion to amend the borough police pension plan to include a provision that will permit an officer to count military service as service time for the purpose of pension calculation.
