Belle Vernon Area School District will reinvent its gifted program this year.
During a workshop meeting Tuesday, Superintendent Michele Dowell and board directors heard from school psychologist Tiffany Jamieson and student service coordinator and Marion Elementary Assistant Principal Cassandra Bozek, who have worked to raise the standard of the gifted program.
“Tiffany and I have worked a lot over the summer consulting with outside districts to get an idea of their procedures and what would work for us here at BVA,” Bozek said.
A new handbook has been designed for staff and parents that gives a summary of the program and regulations governing gifted education and how the district is implementing those regulations.
