International Village: Rainy night doesn’t dampen spirits

Several heavy bouts of rain Tuesday evening put a damper on the opening night of McKeesport’s 2019 International Village festivities.
But the downpours didn’t bring the entire music, food and dance festival’s diamond jubilee to a halt.
Dozens of people still made their way to Renziehausen Park’s Stephen Barry Field to grab take-out containers of their favorite cuisines from food booths run by area churches, organizations and businesses that were representing more than 20 countries.
The field was a sea of umbrellas and Village volunteers wearing ponchos.
