A week after beating Uniontown, the Connellsville football team couldn’t sustain its momentum and was beaten in nearly all facets of a 52-0 loss to McKeesport Friday night at Connellsville Stadium.
“We couldn’t get anything going and nothing was working for us,” Connellsville coach Marko Thomas said. “I thought we would have done a lot better than that. We just didn’t have it. They had a lot more fight that we did.”
Thomas noted that the Tigers (2-0, 1-0) make a living off fast starts, and McKeesport certainly lived up to its reputation. The Tigers scored on every possession in the game, including four in the first quarter.
McKeesport quarterback Devari Robinson had five rushing touchdowns while throwing just three times.
Robinson scored on runs of 19 and 3 yards to help the Tigers grab a 14-0 lead.
