McKeesport History Center to host fifth annual cemetery tour

McKeesport residents will be able to meet some of the most interesting people in their city’s history.
From noon to 4 p.m. Sept. 21-22, costumed historical interpreters will be stationed throughout the McKeesport and Versailles Cemetery to tell stories of the people interred there.
This year marks the fifth anniversary of the popular Living History Tour hosted by the McKeesport Regional History and Heritage Center.
Andi Cartwright, who serves as chairman of the cemetery committee, said the cemetery tour is an enjoyable way to learn about McKeesport’s history and the fascinating people who lived in the city.
“Our goal is to bring history to life,” she said. “History is not just dates and dusty artifacts; history is the story of flesh-and-blood people who lived and died in this town.
