The duo of Jayvon Campbell-Holt and Ray Holmes combined to rush for nearly 200 yards and three touchdowns in Serra Catholic’s 33-14 win over Ellwood City in nonconference play Friday.
Campbell-Holt carried the ball seven times for a team-high 105 yards and a 48-yard touchdown. Holmes finished with 91 yards on 19 carries and a pair of trips to the end zone, one from 5 yards out and another from 2 yards away.
Terrell Booth got Serra Catholic (2-0) on the board first in the second quarter on a pick six before Ellwood City (0-2) responded to tie the game at 7-7. A short 6-yard scamper by Machai Brooks gave the Eagles a 14-7 edge at halftime.
