On a Friday the 13th, it was the Charleroi football team playing the role of monster under the lights at Commodore Stadium in Perryopolis.
The Cougars and Commodores were locked in a tight battle for one quarter until the visitors busted loose for 24 second-quarter points to help push them to a 45-6 Interstate Conference win over host Frazier.
Brayden Mihalcin carried the ball 29 times, slashing and gutting the Frazier defense for 181 yards and a pair of late touchdowns.
Early in the game, it was Cougars’ quarterback Alex Conrad slicing and dicing the Commodores defense for two passing touchdowns and a 43-yard touchdown run.
“I don’t like to single out individuals for their performance,” Charleroi coach Lance Getsy said. “But as a team, it’s important that we’re improving each week. We want to make sure as an 11-man unit, we’re all aware of our positions and assignments.”
