Bus company cuts three EF routes

More than 350 children in Elizabeth Forward School District may not be able to take a bus to school this week as the contract spat between the district and its transportation provider continues with no end in sight.
Pennsylvania Coach Lines is under court order to continue transporting students while negotiations are ongoing. However, the company announced Monday that it is cutting three of the district’s 26 bus routes effective immediately.
“We don’t have any spare drivers here to take the runs,” said Pennsylvania Coach Lines President David Sunstein. “It’s been a very tenuous situation this whole time.”
Dr. Trisha Martell, principal of EF Middle School, posted a statement on Facebook Monday night, informing parents that buses 106 and 114 won’t be picking up students today. The school will open its doors at 7:15 a.m. for parents who want to drop off their children on the way to work.
Martell also offered to help out parents who have difficulty picking up their children when school is dismissed at 3 p.m.
