Thomas Jefferson dominated in just about every facet Friday night.
The Jaguars passed and ran the ball efficiently, played aggressive defense and even broke free for a touchdown on special teams in a lopsided 61-7 victory over Class 5A Connellsville in non-conference action.
The Jaguars (6-0) scored 48 first-half points and totaled 508 yards, while limiting the Falcons (1-5) to 98 total yards — 101 rushing and -3 passing.
“We haven’t put it all together this year, so that was our mission, to come out and play solid in every facet of the game,” TJ head coach Bill Cherpak said. “We came out hot, made some big plays early and when it’s clicking like that, we’re pretty hard to stop.”
TJ quarterback Shane Stump threw with relative ease in a little over a quarter of play, completing 11 of 15 passes for 201 yards and touchdown passes of 2 yards to Preston Zandier and and 12 yards to Dan Deabner.
