With World Mental Health Day approaching, Penn State Greater Allegheny has announced two programs aimed at promoting mental health and suicide awareness and facing adversity.
World Mental Health Day was created in 1992 by the World Federation for Mental Health and is observed Oct. 10 each year. The overall objective of the day is to raise awareness of mental health issues around the world and mobilize efforts in support of mental health.
“The day provides an opportunity for all stakeholders working on mental health issues to talk about their work, and what more needs to be done to make mental health care a reality for people worldwide,” according to WFMH.
