A new option for absentee voting will launch Monday, making the process easier for voters and area county election officers.

As part of Gov. Tom Wolf’s plan to make voting more convenient, voters will be able to apply online for absentee ballots starting with the November election.

The mobile-friendly online application, at votesPA.com/ApplyAbsentee, will go live Monday, which is the first day that registered voters can apply for absentee ballots for the Nov. 5 election.

The move comes four years after the governor launched online voting registration, which has since been used for more than 1.4 million applications or changes.
