Coach Doc Kulish often reminds his players about the trajectory of his Thomas Jefferson team last season.
The Jaguars found their stride late in the season, winning six of their last seven, and riding that wave to the WPIAL semifinals. This year’s Jaguars might be on a similar path.
Thomas Jefferson convincingly took down Gateway, 4-1, Tuesday to improve to 8-2-3 and clinch a playoff spot. The Jaguars lost to Franklin Regional last week, snapping a three-game winning streak. With five games left on the schedule, signs of an increasingly dangerous team are showing.
“Our team last year really started connecting in the last seven, eight games of the season,” Kulish said. “This team we’re doing the exact same thing.”
