James “Jim” H. Gregg, 67, of Stockdale, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 3, 2019, at Monongahela Valley Hospital. Born in North Charleroi on March 5, 1952, he was the son of the late Jacob and Harriett Culler Gregg. Jim was a Vietnam War veteran, having served in the U.S. Army. He worked as an operator for PVS Chemical in Allenport , and would have retired in November of this year. Jim was a member of the Stockdale VFD #17, where he served as the Safety Officer, a past president, and known to have the BEST mustache of the entire fire department. He was also a member of the Roscoe American Legion Post #801, the Roscoe Sportsmen’s Association, and the Long Branch Sportsmen’s Association. Jim was currently a member of the Stockdale Council and the Police Board. He was a former member and past president of the Roscoe VFD #16. Jim was an avid hunter, fisherman, and always had a story to tell. He was the “go to” and “right hand man” at Melenyzer’s Funeral Home in Roscoe for more years than 1 can count. Jim will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Surviving is his wife of 30 years, Mary “Toni” Tushak Gregg; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Jamey and Shellie Gregg of Elco, and Michael and Kara Gregg of Granville; 5 grandchildren Jayme Ray, Scarlet, Brady, Kaylee and Rylan; and 2 sisters; Glenda Gottheld of Rices Landing, and Donna Corrick of Carmichaels. Jim is also survived by his 2 four-legged companions, Muna and Odie. There will be no public visitation. Arrangements have been entrusted to Melenyzer Funeral Homes & Cremation Services Inc. Roscoe.
