The allocations committee of the Allegheny Regional Asset District (RAD) has submitted a proposed 2020 budget of $109.4 million, which includes funding for recreation in McKeesport and the Mon-Yough Valley.
The budget includes recommendations for operating and capital grants to 106 organizations, including the City of McKeesport’s Renziehausen Park, the McKeesport Little Theater and Mon/Yough Trail Council.
The budget is supported by an estimated $103.5 million in sales taxes with the balance coming from the grant stabilization reserve.
If the preliminary budget is passed as is, McKeesport would receive $760,704 in operating funds for Renzie Park and $223,500 in capital funding, which would be used, in addition to other grant funds, to expand, repair and upgrade the entirety of Renzie’s 7,500 linear foot walking trail system.
