Cougars ground Eagles, 9-0

The Yough girls soccer team took a little while to get started Wednesday night in its nonsection matchup with visiting Serra Catholic; however, once the Cougars got started, it was hard for the Eagles to contain the hosts.
Yough scored its first goal in the 16th minute and proceeded to fill the net in beating Serra, 9-0, on Cougar Mountain.
Freshman McKenzie Pritts had a hat trick and an assist in the first half as the Cougars (12-1-1) put up seven first-half markers. The Eagles (8-6) set their defensive line high and forced Yough into several offsides calls early. But once the Cougars figured out how to beat that, their speed took over.
