When North Charleroi voters head to the polls next month, they will choose from four candidates with only three open seats on council — something that has not happened in recent years.
Incumbents David Diess and Carrie Zeletski and newcomer Joseph Duche, all Democrats, and new Republican candidate Stacey Wolfe hope to secure a seat Nov. 5.
Diess, 52, works as a conductor/engineer for Norfolk Southern.
He has served on council for three years.
“I have been proud to live here and call North Charleroi my home,” he said. “It is a quiet little place to live. We have a very active mayor, a hard-working street department and a strong police presence who all work together with council to keep it that way.”
