A former Pennsylvania state trooper is free on $250,000 unsecured bond for allegedly approaching the wife of the victim in an attempted homicide case involving the Pagans Motorcycle Club and offering payment and protection if charges were dropped.
James Baranowski, 57, of Chalk Hill waived his right to a preliminary hearing on two counts each of witness intimidation, offering a bribe to a witness and obstruction of justice.
Baranowski is free with a GPS monitor pending formal arraignment Nov. 22.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, Baranowski allegedly went to the Fallowfield Township home of Michelle and Troy Harris on Aug. 22, telling them that he was a private investigator working for the defendants in the attempted homicide case in which Troy Harris was the victim.
