Solution coming for low-water volume issue in McKeesport

The process to remediate a problem causing fire hydrants in McKeesport’s Grandview neighborhood to have a low volume of water is one step closer to being under way.
City council on Wednesday approved a resolution granting a right-of-way to the Municipal Authority of Westmoreland County for a water main extension project.
MAWC owns the fire hydrants located in the Grandview neighborhood as well as the water lines that connect to them. The City of McKeesport pays more than $30,000 per year to MAWC for the use of fire hydrants.
