The Mon Valley Sewage Authority Board should regain its ability to conduct business after Monessen council appointed a new member of the board.
At last night’s work session, council approved Brooke Farmer to temporarily serve on the board through the end of the year.
Farmer’s selection comes after weeks of turmoil on the board related to the resignation of previous member George Shusta. His resignation took several weeks to receive official approval.
Additionally, Mon Sewage Authority Board co-chairman Yancey Taylor publicly announced he’s moving forward with legal action against Monessen Mayor Matt Shorraw and the city after an allegedly defamatory blog post by the mayor.
