With early signs of winter being felt across the Mid-Mon Valley, residents and officials of the Five-Town Region — at least four of them — are hoping for a snowball effect of support as they move forward with plans to consolidate and share services.
In the second town hall meeting held in recent weeks, dozens of residents packed the Stockdale Volunteer Fire Department Social Hall Thursday night to hear the latest developments as the boroughs begin to work together.
Residents intently listened as Roscoe Mayor Tom Wilkinson went over ideas for how to make all the communities better places to live and work, while saving money.
“There are a lot of people who think we can’t do this, who think it won’t work to come together and share these services,” he said. “But it can and it will. It will save us all money and enhance the services we are able to provide to all of you.”
